KIKIITO — Hands Define

KIKIITO is a London-based luxury leather goods brand founded by Japanese-born designer Kiki Ito, specialising in handmade leather handbags and sculptural leather accessories.

Rooted in material intelligence and form, the brand approaches leather as both medium and structure, shaping each piece through precision and intention. Each design emerges from a conceptual foundation, expressed through an architectural and sculptural language.

Developed within House of Ito, a London-based leather atelier, each creation is handcrafted in-house through a close dialogue between design and making, focusing on made-to-order and limited production in small batches with a considered approach to production.

Balancing form, function, and quiet presence, KIKIITO creates contemporary luxury leather goods grounded in discipline, material integrity, and technical expertise.

Representing a refined vision of contemporary luxury, the brand embodies authentic individuality, lasting connection, and the enduring relationship between object and wearer.

THE STORY

KIKIITO is the eponymous brand of designer Kiki Ito, whose work is shaped by over 20 years of experience in leather craftsmanship and luxury handbag design.

Raised in Japan and influenced by her father, a contemporary landscape architect, Kiki developed an early sensitivity to space, proportion, and the conceptual clarity of art and architecture. This perspective continues to define her approach — where simplicity carries depth, and every design is guided by intention rather than excess. Her work is often described as Japanese-inspired minimalism applied to leather design.

Beginning her career through apprenticeship under a London-based couture handbag artisan, Kiki established a strong technical foundation before refining her expertise with heritage brands in the UK. This journey shaped a practice rooted equally in design and craftsmanship, allowing for a distinctive level of control over luxury leather construction, material development, and form.

Today, KIKIITO is developed through House of Ito, a London-based leather atelier and production studio, where design and manufacturing remain closely connected. Through considered materials and small-scale production, each creation is developed with greater intention and control, preserving a close relationship between design, craftsmanship, and the final object.

Shaped by her journey between Japan and London, Kiki’s work reflects a dialogue between cultures — expressed through sculptural leather handbags, craftsmanship, and contemporary design sensibility.

Through each creation, she translates emotional depth into material form, designing objects that not only function, but carry presence — existing alongside the wearer through different moments of life.
